Our optometry team performs a series of advanced, hospital-grade examinations for patients referred by their Glaucoma consultants. With our clinical expertise and the ability to transmit examination results, including OCT scans, in real time via a secure NHS IT system, we ensure that patients receive first-rate care close to home and in a timely fashion.

We operate a specialist Glaucoma clinic at our St Mellons and Usk practices as part of a pioneering shared care service.

Selected for our excellence, we manage a significant number of patients, conducting comprehensive in-practice exams typically done in hospitals. Consultants can oversee patient care remotely, optimizing hospital capacity and ensuring timely, convenient service for patients. Julian Davies Usk Glaucoma Newport

From our practice in Newport, we run a specialist Glaucoma clinic on behalf of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We were very proud in late 2014 to have been one of only three optometry practices in the whole of the health board to launch the Glaucoma Optometric Diagnostic and Treatment Centres (ODTCs).

Julian Davies St Mellons Glaucoma Clinic

Following an extensive and rigorous selection process through Cardiff and Vale Health Board, in spring 2020 we were asked to deliver a specialist Glaucoma clinic on behalf of UHW. Our specialist optometrists conduct a battery of hospital grade examinations on patients sent to us by their Glaucoma consultant at UHW
